For the pasta pep rally, tomorrow night at 5:30, the theme is purple and white. The team will be tie-dying, so please send your swimmer with a t-shirt to dye.
Check in for Divisionals is at 6:40 Saturday morning. Please make sure your swimmer checks in on time, so everyone can arrive at Daleveiew in time for warm-ups. Also, the prime spectator spot at Daleview is on the hill under the shade trees. Bring a blanket to sit on the hill.
Several families have had problems with Eventbrite paying for the banquet. If you have a problem, please email team@littlefallspenguins.com to let us know how many people will be attending and then bring a check to the pep rally, divisionals meet, or banquet. It’s $9 per person.

Please RSVP to the EventBrite invitation to let us know whether your family will be attending the Swim and Dive Team Banquet this Saturday. Registration is required prior to the event. Fun, food, slide show, trophies and more! Evening schedule is as follows:
5:30-6:30: Raft party – bring your floats
6:00: Adults start eating
6:30: Kids start eating
7:00-9:00: Awards ceremony and slide show
Bad weather: the event will relocate to the Pilgrim Lutheran Church on Massachusetts Avenue — but come to the pool first unless you get an email with the change of location.

Nerds Pep Rally: Friday at 5:30pm. Come in costume! 10 and unders practice 4 to 4:30. 11 and overs practice 4:30 to 5:30.
A meet at Ashton on Saturday: Check-in at 7:30am at Little Falls . Please show up on time. Everyone needs to leave the pool by 7:40.
Relay Carnival at North Chevy Chase on Sunday: If you have not already responded to Eventbrite, please indicate if your swimmer is available. Coaches will finalize the Relay Carnival line-up after the A meet. The line-up will be posted at the pool by 3pm. There is a mandatory practice for all Relay Carnival swimmers from 5-6pm on Saturday at Little Falls. Notify a coach if you cannot attend. Check-in at 8:45am Sunday morning at Little Falls.

Volunteers needed: For the meet at Ashton on Saturday, July 10, we need 8 timers and one or more people to manage the tent (bring, set up, take down, and return to Little Falls). If your son or daughter is swimming in this meet, we need you to volunteer. Little Falls vs. Norbeck Hills: Penguins won decisively against Norbeck Hills at home this past Saturday, 461 to 316. Congratulations to all the swimmers and thank you to the many parents that volunteered. Results have been posted on the website.
B meet at home against Mohican: Wednesday, July 7 is the next B meet. Swimmers need to be at the pool at 5:00 to warm-up. There is no afternoon practice on Wednesday because of the meet.
Team breakfast, Thursday, July 8, following morning practice: The tradition of team breakfast continues! After morning practice on Thursday, swimmers will be treated to breakfast poolside! 11 and overs eat at 9:30, and 10 and unders eat at 10:30. Development swimmers are welcome to join at 10:30 too.
A meet at Ashton, July 10: The next A meet is away against Ashton. Respond to the Eventbrite invitation to let us know if you are or are not available. There is an option to respond “no”, so please take the time to let us know if your swimmer is not available. Check-in at Little Falls will be at 7:30 Saturday morning. Directions to Ashton can be found on the team website.
Relay Carnival at NCC, July 11: Relay Carnival is at North Chevy Chase on Sunday. Please respond to the Eventbrite invitation that will be sent soon, so we know if your swimmer is available. Coaches will prepare the line-up on Saturday afternoon, and it will be posted at the pool by 3:00pm. For swimmers selected for relay carnival, there will be a brief relay take-off practice from 5:00 to 5:30pm Saturday. All relay swimmers are expected to attend this practice. Please notify the coaches if you will not be available.
Beach trip, July 19: The annual beach trip is Monday, July 19. You will receive an invitation from Eventbrite to register for the beach trip. All swimmers, divers, and their chaperones can register for a seat (children 12 and under must have a chaperone). Seating is limited, so register early. Until July 12, only swim and dive team members can register. Starting July 12, friends can register too.

From Little Falls Pool:
- Take River Road towards Beltway
- Turn left at traffic light onto Seven Locks Road.
- Turn right onto Lilly Stone Drive.
- Proceed till stop sign. Then turn right onto Hamilton Spring Road.
- Continue to dead end.
- Turn right, which will take you to CSSC parking lot.
Please use the basketball court for overflow parking during the B meet. Do not park in the fire lane (clearly marked as such) on the right side of the road leading into the Club.

We are already into the third week of swim season! This past Saturday the Penguins lost to Daleview (416 to 373), but the team had many excellent races and showed lots of spirit and sportsmanship. Results are posted under the ‘Information” tab, then click on ‘Meet Results’.
Wednesday night there is a B meet at Carderock. Directions are on the website. Little Falls will warm up at 5:30. No afternoon practice on Wednesday, just show up at Carderock.
The Saturday A meet is at home against Norbeck Hills. Please respond to the Eventbrite invitation to indicate if your swimmer(s) is/are available. Team pajama bottoms and boxer shorts will be for sale too.
The week’s pep rally will be at 5:30 Friday afternoon. The theme will be announced soon. On Friday only, 10 and unders will practice from 4 to 4:30. 11 and overs will practice from 4:30 to 5:30. Please note times for Friday afternoon practices and pep rally.
Meet results from the ‘A’ meet against Daleview are now available. Click on the “Information” tab and then go to “Meet Results”.
The line-up for Saturday’s A meet at Daleview has been sent out via email. Please check to see if your child is scheduled to swim.
All swimmers must check-in at 7:50 at Little Falls pool parking lot before leaving for Daleview. It is critical that you check in on time, so we know swimmers are coming and everyone arrives at Daleview in time for warm-ups at 8:30. We still need a volunteer to bring the team tent to Daleview, set it up, take it down at the end of the meet, and bring it back to Little Falls. The tent offers much needed shade for our swimmers, so your help will be appreciated by many! Contact Susan Scribner (s2scribner@yahoo.com) if you can assist with any aspect of tent management.

The season had a great start on Saturday with a strong win over North Chevy Chase (445 to 344). Congratulations to all the swimmers! Thank you to the volunteers for a fun pep rally on Friday and a well-run swim meet and picture day on Saturday. Meet results for each swimmer can be found under the “Information” tab – then click on “Meet Results”.
Developmental practice starts TODAY, Monday June 21st. Come from 10:30 to 11 or 6 to 6:30.
The first B meet is this Wednesday, June 23, at home against Somerset. Swimmers need to be at the pool for warm-ups at 5:00. We are trying something new for this B meet: asking swimmers to indicate their availability in advance. You will receive an invitation for the B meet from Eventbrite. Please respond so we know if your swimmers are planning to participate. We hope this will help the B meet run more smoothly.
Please remember the pool’s parking policy for all home meets:
For meets, you must either walk to the meet or park in the Westbrook parking lot. The pool parking lot is reserved for the visiting team, and you may not park in the pool parking lot (if you are transporting team equipment or have physical limitations, please tell us and we will get you a parking pass for the lot). Only if the Westbrook parking lot is full, you may park on the neighborhood streets except for Little Falls Drive, Baltimore, Glen Cove, or Allan Terrace.
FAQ: the streets are public, why can’t I park there? You can park there, as long as you are not using the pool. The pool’s special exemption with the county requires this parking policy. If you do not comply with it, you will be subject to loss of pool privileges.
Volunteers are still needed! Thank you if you have volunteered already. If you have not committed yet, please respond to the email from Signupgenius.com and make your commitments now. - Wednesday evening, June 23, at home, we need an Automation Assistant and a Runner. No experience necessary.
- Saturday morning, June 26, at Daleview, we need Timers.
- For all away meets, we need a Tent Boss, to bring the team tent, set it up, take it down, and bring it back to Little Falls.
- We need a Beach Trip Organizer (attendance not required!), so our swimmers can have their annual outing.

If you have not received your free swim cap — a reward for registering and volunteering before June 15 — we will be giving them out at the B meet this week.
