The season had a great start on Saturday with a strong win over North Chevy Chase (445 to 344).  Congratulations to all the swimmers!  Thank you to the volunteers for a fun pep rally on Friday and a well-run swim meet and picture day on Saturday.  Meet results for each swimmer can be found under the “Information” tab – then click on “Meet Results”.

Developmental practice starts TODAY, Monday June 21st.  Come from 10:30 to 11 or 6 to 6:30.

The first B meet is this Wednesday, June 23, at home against Somerset.  Swimmers need to be at the pool for warm-ups at 5:00.  We are trying something new for this B meet: asking swimmers to indicate their availability in advance.  You will receive an invitation for the B meet from Eventbrite.  Please respond so we know if your swimmers are planning to participate.  We hope this will help the B meet run more smoothly.

Please remember the pool’s parking policy for all home meets:

For meets, you must either walk to the meet or park in the Westbrook parking lot. The pool parking lot is reserved for the visiting team, and you may not park in the pool parking lot (if you are transporting team equipment or have physical limitations, please tell us and we will get you a parking pass for the lot). Only if the Westbrook parking lot is full, you may park on the neighborhood streets except for Little Falls Drive, Baltimore, Glen Cove, or Allan Terrace.
FAQ: the streets are public, why can’t I park there? You can park there, as long as you are not using the pool. The pool’s special exemption with the county requires this parking policy. If you do not comply with it, you will be subject to loss of pool privileges.

Volunteers are still needed! Thank you if you have volunteered already.  If you have not committed yet, please respond to the email from Signupgenius.com and make your commitments now.  We need volunteers for the following positions, so please consider volunteering again.  It’s your team!  Contact your team representative (team@littlefallspenguins.com) or go to Signupgenius.com.

• Wednesday evening, June 23, at home, we need an Automation Assistant and a Runner.  No experience necessary.
• Saturday morning, June 26, at Daleview, we need Timers.
• For all away meets, we need a Tent Boss, to bring the team tent, set it up, take it down, and bring it back to Little Falls.
• We need a Beach Trip Organizer (attendance not required!), so our swimmers can have their annual outing.

Remember the Pep Rally on Friday night at 5pm.  Please note the new, earlier time!

This week’s A meet is away at Daleview.  Please respond to the invitation from Eventbrite if your swimmers are available.

If you have not received your free swim cap — a reward for registering and volunteering before June 15 — we will be giving them out at the B meet this week.
